Within the “RECIPE 2015” project, the first panel discussion with the topic “Current State Assessment and Needs Analysis in the National Critical Infrastructure Protection System” took place at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica on 16 and 17 June 2015.
Critical infrastructure security coordinators from the central state administration bodies, representatives of scientific institutions and experts from the mentioned area, representatives of the regulatory agencies and experts from legal entities that represent potential national critical infrastructure participated in the panel discussions.
 
The discussion was opened by  Robert Mikac, PhD, Head of the Civil Protection Sector at NPRD and the Project Manager, and Mr. Dražen Barišić, Mayor of City of Velika Gorica. Prof. Siniša Tatalović, PhD, an eminent expert in the field of security took part in the introductory part of the panel discussion.  Alongside Robert Mikac, PhD, as the Project Manager, the discussion moderators were lecturers from the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica and other experts from the areas of security and risk management, Dean Škanata, PhD, Ivan Nađ, PhD, Branko Mihaljević, PhD and Zdenko Adelsberger, PhD.
 
The purpose of the discussions was to exchange knowledge, experience and best practices among the participants, to raise awareness and to promote the knowledge about the risks which present threat to critical infrastructures, to create conditions for the improvement of communication among the stakeholders at national and international levels, and between the public and private sectors, and also to encourage scientific and research activities in the field of critical infrastructure risk management. 
 
The National Protection and Rescue Directorate of the Republic of Croatia is the Project Coordinator. The Project will be implemented in Serbia, Sweden and Croatia. The Project partners are The Faculty of Security Studies from Serbia, University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica and Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. The Project aims to involve EU Member States with varying levels of progress within CIP area together with a candidate country so that the EU achievements are spread beyond its borders for a strengthened security of all.
